How can we be complacent in trying times like these.  We are on the verge of WWIII, and people are sencelessly murdered every day in the name of .......... what? For the spread of democracy and capitalism? So the rich can get richer off of the spoils of war?  When I look at the average citizen today I see scared people, walking with their heads down, jumping at every abrupt noise. But what are they scared of terroists, osama bin ladin, north korea?  Well I am scared of terrorists too, but not the same ones as most people. The real terror threat comes from within our own boarders and lives in a big white mansion in the capital of our great nation. A war and fear mongering regiem that is using war as a tool to further their plan for a "New American Century". This is a plan to rebuild america's military and keep our country in control of all resources world wide. The theory seems to be "if we have the biggest guns, whos gonna fuck with us". This is the mark of scared society not a proud one. If our country was a self sustainable one we would not have this problem.We would not be scared and we would be proud of our accomplishments. We need to stop comsuming and start producing. Everything we need to survive is provided in nature. Like hemp for example, we could release ourselves from this addiction to forien oil buy producing hemp oil to run our cars, but instead the oil industry pumps billions of dollars into campain funds to keep the addiction strong. Not to mention that our leader for the present has family ties to oil intrests and only stands to make money as the price of oil hits all time highs. Let us not forget that before hummers, cell phones, and wal mart our ancesotrs built this country from the ground up. It seems to me that current generations have just quit. No one makes their own meals, let alone grows their own food, and we buy all of our goods from walmart or costco(Two of the biggest corporations in the world) who have destroyed thousands of small businesses and created minimun wage jobs instead. These big Box stores will be what starves our country should some catosrophic event ocurr. Their supply chains would collapse and food and other necesities would not reach the majority of citizens. Dont belive me? Just look at New Orleans after Katrina, the stores where closed no one could get food or fresh water. They only people who did make it through where the ones with survival skills. Now what if this happen to half the country? It would be complete chaos and man would kill man for a bottles of water. All this swirls through my head constantly every day and night, and as the due date of my first child aproaches rapidly, these things wear on my soul. I search for understanding but cant find it, I search for sedation to it, but nothings strong enough.
